We will distribute the tasks of the responsible ministries for the local elections. These are the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of e-Government. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov at the beginning of today’s government meeting.
Each of these ministries has responsibilities to deal with in the next two months and these tasks must be completed in coordination with the CEC.
Thus, along with the protection of public order, the fight against the illegal trafficking of migrants, the fight against the production and distribution of drugs, ensuring safety on the roads, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will also take on a number of new tasks, which it must fulfill qualitatively and on time, Denkov said.
Therefore, it is important that the team at the Ministry of Internal Affairs works in sync, in agreement, in order to be able to do its job. The Minister of the Interior has already sent a reasoned request to the presidency, with which he demands a change of the chief secretary, with whom, as mentioned, there are already differences on how the work in the ministry should be coordinated and ensured. The reasons will be explained by the minister after the meeting. We are waiting for the decision of the Presidency, said Denkov.
Once we receive positive consent, as required by the Rules of the Council of Ministers, this proposal will be submitted for a decision by the Council of Ministers, the Prime Minister specified.
